Locksmith Prices — Fort Lauderdale & South Florida

$55 gets a real locksmith to your door. That covers the drive out and the time to actually look at the problem — not a guess over the phone. You pay it either way, because the truck still rolls and the tech still shows up. If you want the work done, we give you one price for the whole job before we start. That is the price. Nothing gets tacked on at the end.

Family owned. Based in South Florida. Every job is done by our own licensed technicians — never a subcontractor, never a call center in another state. 15 years, licensed and insured.

Marked items are the hardware price.
Fitting is quoted on site, because the labor depends on the door, the frame and what is already
there. We would rather tell you that here than surprise you at the door.

Getting Us Out & Getting a Quote

Service Call & Diagnostic$55

Charged on every call-out. It pays for the drive and for a licensed tech to look at it properly instead of guessing on the phone. Once he has seen it you get one price for the whole job, and you say yes or no before anything gets touched.

If you decide not to go ahead$55

You pay the $55 and nothing else. The truck still came out and the tech still spent his time, so the service call stands either way.

After-Hours / Night Call$150

Night-time call-out, charged separately from the work.

On-Site Written Estimate$150

We walk the property and hand you a detailed written estimate and receipt.

What “fresh installation” means

A fresh installation is a lock going into a door that has never had one there. The door has to be cut and bored to exact points so the lock seats flush and the bolt lines up with the frame — no gaps, no binding, no forcing the door shut. On a residential door that starts at $125. On a metal door — commercial doors are normally metal, and so are most condo and apartment doors inside a building — it starts at $250, because metal takes different tooling, different hardware and considerably more work.

Custom-Made Job from $250
Welding & Soldering — gates, frames, metalwork $250 – $2,500

Custom and metal fabrication work

Some jobs cannot be done with hardware off a shelf. A gate that needs a bracket built, a frame that has to be cut and re-welded, a strike plate fabricated to fit an opening nobody makes a part for — that is custom work, and it starts at $250. Welding and soldering on gates, frames and metalwork runs $250 to $2,500 with the material included, depending on how much has to be built, cut or reinforced. We look at it, tell you what it takes, and give you one price before we start.

Security Cameras & CCTV

Camera Installation — per camera from $150
Commercial-Grade / Weatherproof Camera — per camera from $250
Cat5e / Cat6 Cable Runquoted by distance
DVR / NVR & Storage quoted by channels & recording days
Existing System — Repair or Add Camerasfrom $150
Multi-Building / Large-Count Installsite survey, then one written quote

Why camera work is quoted on site

A camera on an existing cable run is a straightforward job. A camera that needs a new Cat5e or Cat6 line pulled across a building is not. The honest price depends on how many cameras, how far the cable has to travel, what it has to pass through, the recorder and how many days of footage you want kept. We walk the property, then give you one written quote for the finished system — equipment, cable, mounting and programming together. You approve it before anything is drilled.

We handle everything from a four-camera house to multi-building commercial properties running well over a hundred cameras with a full rewire, all by our own technicians.

Car Keys by Vehicle

Car key made or replacedfrom $110

Standard and transponder keys originated, cut and programmed. Price depends on year, make and model.

Programming an existing keyfrom $95

You have the key, it needs coding to the vehicle. Depends on year, make and model.

Most vehicles — push-to-start / smart keyfrom $250

Proximity and push-to-start keys cut and programmed on site. Final price depends on year, make and model.

Hondafrom $150

Standard keys from $150. Push-to-start models start at $250.

Range Roverfrom $350

Depends on year, make and model.

Jaguarfrom $350

Same pricing as Range Rover.

We fit original, durable keys only. We do not stock cheap aftermarket blanks — they fail, they strand people, and they cost more in the end. If you would rather we supply the key than order it yourself, that is an additional charge for the original part.

Module replacement — high-end vehicles

from $3,500

Some late-model vehicles cannot be keyed at all once the keyless module has failed or been locked out. On Jaguar Land Rover this is the KVM — Keyless Vehicle Module — the unit that authenticates the key, handles proximity detection and stores every authorised key in memory. When it goes, no amount of programming will help; the module itself has to be replaced.

What this job includes: the new module ordered from the dealer, installed the same day it arrives, dealer-level programming access, and two new keys supplied and coded to the vehicle.

Typical example: a 2025 or 2026 Range Rover requiring a KVM swap. From $3,500, depending on the vehicle and the module. We quote the exact figure once we have the VIN.

Vehicles that must go through the dealer

Check your car here before you call. We would rather tell you now
than take your money and fail.

Mercedes-Benz2015 and newer

We handle Mercedes up to 2014. From 2015 the system is dealer-level access — it has to go to the dealer. No locksmith can do it, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.

Volkswagen · Audi · Lamborghini2017 and newer

Dealer-level. You order the key from the dealer, we provide the dealer-level programming. Expect 3 to 5 business days from order to a working key.

Nissan · Infiniti · Ford · GM · Mazda · Kia · Hyundai2017 – 2026

Dealer-level communication required. Same route: the key comes through the dealer, we program it.

Car Key Warranty

30 days on parts and labor for car keys supplied and programmed by Pro Locksmith. If a key we supplied fails inside 30 days, we make it right.

No warranty of any kind on a key you supply. We perform the same on-site programming we always do. If the key does not take, that is a fault in the key, not in the work — and the service call, our time and the programming attempt are still payable. We will tell you this again before we start.

This applies to dealer-ordered keys too. If you order a Volkswagen, Audi or Lamborghini key from the dealer, that is a customer-supplied key — we program it, but it carries no warranty from us.

High-security keys — bring your security card

Medeco and Mul-T-Lock keys are restricted. To cut you a copy we need the security card that came with your lock — it is what carries the cut code and proves the keys are yours to copy.

No card, no key. That is not our policy, it is how the system is designed, and it is the reason these locks are worth having: nobody can walk in and copy your key either. Find the card before you come.

Pro Locksmith is an authorised Medeco and Mul-T-Lock dealer. If the card is genuinely lost, come and see us — there is a route through the manufacturer, but it is not a same-day counter job.

These are real ranges, not teaser pricing. Lockouts, rekeys
and repairs are priced complete — what you see is what you pay. You are told your exact
price before any work starts, never after.

A local company, with our own people

Pro Locksmith is a family-owned business based in South Florida. We are not a call center in another state that takes your details and hands the job to whichever subcontractor answers first — the practice that gives this trade its reputation.

The technician who arrives works for us. We know their name, we trained them, and we answer for the work. That is why we can publish a price list at all: when the same people do the job every time, the numbers stay honest.

Licensed and insured, 15 years of experience. You are welcome to check us out before you call — we would rather you did.

A push bar does not include the outside trim. The bar releases the door from inside; the lever or pull on the outside is a separate piece that has to match it. Budget for both — trim starts at $175 and goes up with the grade you choose. We will tell you the pair price before you commit, not after the bar is on the door.

What we need to see before we open a lock — click to read

Proof of ownership — required on every job, no exceptions

Before we open anything or change any lock, we have to establish that the property or vehicle is yours. This is not paperwork for its own sake. It is the reason nobody can call us and have your locks changed either.

Photo ID, matching the property or vehicle

Government-issued ID plus a document tying you to the address or the VIN — deed, title, registration, lease, utility bill or similar.

You must be there in person

We cannot open a property or change locks for someone who is out of state, out of the country, or sending a friend, a relative or a contractor on their behalf. No exceptions, however reasonable the request sounds.

Tenanted property — we cannot let you in

If the property is rented and the tenant is in possession, an owner cannot have us open it or change the locks. That is a matter for the courts, not a locksmith.

Evictions — the Sheriff must be on site

We carry out lock changes on an eviction only with the Sheriff physically present and the court paperwork in hand. We do not attend evictions on a landlord’s word alone.

The same rule applies to vehicles

Car lockouts and key work require ID and proof the vehicle is yours — title, registration or equivalent. A key in your hand is not proof.

Commercial premises

Business lockouts require proof of ownership or documented authority to act for the business.

We may ask for documents before we dispatch

If anything about a request does not sit right, we will ask you to send ID and proof of ownership over the phone, before a technician leaves. If you are not willing to provide it up front, we will not attend. That is not suspicion of you personally — it is the same check that keeps anyone from doing this to your property.

If you cannot produce it, we will not open it — and we will still charge for the call-out, because our technician still traveled. Bring the documents and it is a two-minute conversation.

Safes: price depends on size, model, and whether it can be opened without
damage. Tell us the make and model when you call — it changes the number.

Key fobs: we replace and program fobs. We do not sell fob batteries separately.

Ranges cover standard work in our service area. Non-standard hardware and after-hours calls can
fall outside them — you will always be told first.
